I’m Fred Wilson, the Membership Director on the ICF Ireland Charter Chapter. Since joining the board in February 2026, we have set our sights on deep engagement with Ireland’s coaching community.
It’s been great to see so many join the LinkedIn Live events and the in-person Coaching Le Chéile events in May and June. |

| Many of the amazing conversations continue over email and virtual calls. It has been beneficial to hear what you have on your mind: your challenges, your insights, and your vision for a stronger chapter.
As we’re building momentum, please continue to let us know what’s on your mind. I grew up believing that the best things in life happen when people pull up a chair, sit together, and truly listen. All of it has been helpful in understanding who we are and where we aim to go as a community.
We want to hear from you. Whether you are new to the community, you’ve recently earned an ICF credential, or reached any other milestone worth sharing—please let us know at membership@icfireland.com or on LinkedIn. We want to celebrate your greatness. You are part of a dynamic, passionate ecosystem, and I look forward to connecting.
Frederick Wilson, Director of Membership |

| Thank you to everyone who joined our Summer Spraoi in The Mercantile Bar, in Dublin on June 18th. On the hottest day of the year, we all agreed it was a welcome escape to enjoy some aircon, a cold drink and a chat with peer coaches.
We heard consistently from members that you would love more opportunities to connect in person. More to come on social dates and don’t forget the two key Coaching Le Chéile event dates for the diary:
AGM & Year End Social – November 18th, Dublin ICF Ireland Conference – February 25th, Midlands
Stay tuned for more details coming soon – This newsletter will be where you hear all the breaking news first 🙂 |

| We have been chatting with you at events, and people are asking about societal impact and inclusion. It is not surprising that Coaches want to have a positive impact on society, but it can be hard to know where to start. A great starting point to deepen cultural awareness, personal reflection, and bring this curiosity and kindness to yourself and all your clients is through the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) workshops, which are free and all carry CCEs. Here are the links to these international training workshops that all carry 2 CCEs each: As the lead for the ICF Ireland DEIB strategy, I am keen to learn from you. I will be setting up conversations with any coaches based in Ireland who are curious about DEIB, have worked in this area, or who have a special interest in a particular area. This is the time to get into the conversations so that we can understand what the Coaching community in Ireland needs and respond effectively. Please drop me an email (Colette.Henry@icfireland.com), and I will be happy to set up a virtual chat during July or August. Colette Henry |

| | | As part of the ICF Ireland Chapter’s Coaching for a Thriving World – The SDGs Series, this month invites us to consider how the Sustainable Development Goals serve not only as global ambitions for a better future world, but as powerful lenses for coaching conversations. One key insight for us as coaches is that the SDGs expand the horizon of individual goals into systemic awareness. When a leader explores their impact through a set of goals, we can often hear that they are grappling with challenges that relate to economic turbulence, the future of work, the impact of climate change etc. Let’s take the recent heatwave experienced in Europe, a very real example of SDG13: Climate Action. Climate change is making heatwaves more frequent and more intense – this directly affects how people live and work. For example, in the U.K. warnings were issued to change daily routines and limit activity due to risk to life; France closed schools, banned certain outdoor activities, restricted the sale of alcohol, and advised its citizens to limit movement during peak heat times. Here in Ireland, we did not experience the highs of mainland Europe, however, we did experience temperatures that we are not used too, requiring advisory nationwide status warnings. For us as coaches, we will increasingly be working with clients to help them figure out: what if anything do we need to adapt? How do we care for people’s wellbeing while still delivering? On a recent trip to Singapore to work with senior leaders, I noticed that the air-conditioning turned off at 5pm everyday, and was advised that it was a response to the turbulence caused by the energy crisis stemming from the geopolitical tensions and conflict that closed the Strait of Hormuz. I am sure that you have your examples from clients of how these challenges are shaping how organisations operate. This invites us as coaches to develop our capabilities to support leaders and teams in widening their lens, so that they can see the complete picture of how choices contribute to a wider system. The SDGs serve to remind us that thriving organisations are inseparable from a thriving world. The question becomes how do we navigate these challenges with clients and continue to reflect our coaching in the context of our commitment to ICF guidelines and ethics for coaching? What tensions might we face in our coaching work as a consequence? HOw do we come together as a Chapter to share learning and experiences with each other? If you have any ideas or want to respond to this piece, please contact us at admin@icfireland.com Melissa Sayer |
